BOG Committees

The Board of Governors’ Committees are actively engaged in developing and promoting new programs for Georgetown alumni to connect with each other and with Georgetown. The Committees meet in person at each Leadership Weekend and periodically throughout the year. We invite you to read about each of the Committees and to contact the Committee Chairs with thoughts, ideas and recommendations.

Alumni Clubs Committee

Committee Description

The Alumni Clubs Committee oversees all GUAA Alumni Clubs and Contacts, leads related initiatives, and serves as the conduit for information about the GUAA and the University to its regional communities throughout the world.

Audit and Finance Committee

Committee Description

The primary responsibility of the Audit and Finance Committee is to oversee the financial matters of the Alumni Association and to interface with GUAA’s independent certified public account. The work of the committee is developed through the work of its three subcommittees: (a) Audit and Budget, (b) Investments and (c) Revenue and Royalty.

Committee Description

The Awards Committee is responsible for selecting candidates to receive GUAA awards.

Campus Engagement Committee

Committee Description

The Campus Engagement Committee’s purpose is to develop, support and empower alumni interaction across all campuses and schools. The committee will engage campus stakeholders by providing unique opportunities to experience the Georgetown University Alumni Association resources, programmatic offerings and alumni network.

Committee Description

The Career Services Committee seeks to provide opportunities for lifelong professional development, career support, and networking for all Georgetown University alumni and students.

Committee Description

Committee Description

The Communications Committee shall, using best practices and technology, create and implement strategies for communications between the Georgetown University Alumni Association and the alumni community and among the Board of Governors, Senators, and Georgetown University staff.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

Committee Description

The DEI Committee is dedicated to unifying and fostering an inclusive and equitable environment across all alumni networks. The committee promotes diversity, ensures equitable representation, and upholds inclusive practices to reflect the diverse backgrounds of the Georgetown alumni community.

Committee Description

The Georgetown University Alumni Association Executive Committee is composed of the officers and the committee chairs. The Executive Committee meets regularly throughout the year. It is the policy-making committee of the Board and has the authority to exercise all powers of the Board of Governors in the management of the affairs of the Alumni Association when the Board is not in session. The President of the Alumni Association chairs this committee.

Committee Description

The Nominations Committee is responsible for selecting candidates for election to the Board of Governors and the Officers of the Alumni Association.

Committee Description

The Philanthropy Committee works to galvanize the Board of Governors, as well as the greater alumni community, to offer meaningful financial support to Georgetown and the Alumni Association in a strategic, focused, and impactful way through philanthropic means.
