Title:GEMA Holds Successful 24th Annual Externship Program

GEMA held a highly successful 24th annual externship program the week of March 2nd, 2026. Six students travelled to Los Angeles and six to New York City for informational meetings with alumni from across the various areas of media and entertainment, including film, TV, music, theatre and sports.

Over 80 alumni participated in the program, representing such companies as Disney, Netflix, NBCUniversal, Apple, Amazon Studios, Live Nation, CAA, UTA and SiriusXM. They also included actors, directors, producers, film and TV writers and journalists.

Thank you to all who participated, with special thanks to Jacki Banks and the Cawley Career Center, our externship schedulers: Kara Korber (B ’16), Julia Usiak (C ’19), Cady Stanton (C ’20) and Mariah Pongor C ’15), as well as the extern selection committee: Jacki Banks, Georgetown Professor Melissa Bruno, Julian De La Paz (F ’15), Jon-Matthew Hopkins (C ’13), and Sarah Mucha (F ’17).
