This cookbook/memoir features stories and recipes from a local career spanning four decades. Many of the tales celebrate Georgetown’s golden saloon age, when Mike was introduced to the enjoyment of dining at the bar. The book proceeds like a great menu, with recipes and stories intermingled. It has already received enthusiastic endorsements from alumnus Ted Leonsis and esteemed former Washington Post food writer Phyllis Richman.
