Note: Timothy Boyce edits this new edition. In 1942, Norwegian author Odd Nansen was arrested by Nazis and spent the remainder of World War II in concentration camps Grini, Veidal, and Sachsenhausen. For three and a half years, he kept a secret diary. His entries reveal his longing for his family, the barbaric treatment reserved for Jews, and his disgust at the anti-Semitism of some fellow Norwegians.
