School of Dentistry Legacy

The Georgetown University School of Dentistry (1901-1990) was the proud home to many of Georgetown’s sons and daughters, providing unparalleled education in the field of dentistry rooted in cura personalis, the Jesuit value of care for the whole person. The dedication of dental faculty and its students to the Georgetown ideals of service to all those in need reverberate through the halls and classrooms of the Medical Dental Building today. Join us in celebrating 89 years of academic excellence in dental education and artistry, in partnership with the Booth Family Center for Special Collections at Lauinger Library, the Dental Alumni Board, and the GUAA.

Giving

In honor of the 89 years of academic excellence in dentistry, please consider making a gift to support undergraduate student scholarships through the Tigani Memorial Scholarship Fund, named after the Dental Alumni Board’s founding president, Pasquale “Pat” Tigani, D.D.S., (C’55, D’57, Parent ’80, ’84, ’86, ’87, ’88). Join the members of the Dental Alumni Board in institutionalizing the School of Dentistry’s legacy for future generations of Hoya healthcare providers.

In Gratitude

Thanks to the generosity of our Georgetown Dental School alumni, Classroom LA-02 underwent a dramatic transformation, creating a living legacy to the Georgetown School of Dentistry. The proud history of our dental community serves as a dynamic example of the values and achievement we expect from our medical students. The future of the School of Medicine is being built upon the foundation which you helped lay through your time, talent, and now treasure. It is therefore fitting and appropriate that we memorialize your legacy through the creation of a permanent home for the Dental Alumni Community in the Med-Dent Building.
