FLITE Stipend Program

The Future Leaders in Technology (FLITE) stipend program enables Georgetown undergraduate students to gain summer work experience in the technology sector.

FLITE offers funding to undergraduate students interning in tech roles or at tech companies, startups, or nonprofits – helping to grow and shape the next generation of Hoya leaders in tech. Preference is given to students with financial need and/or internships that are unpaid or low-paying.

How does FLITE benefit students?

FLITE seeks to serve students that may not otherwise have the financial resources to accept a tech internship by providing monetary assistance for travel, housing, and incidental costs. Because of programs like FLITE, Georgetown students have the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the technology industry and the best alumni network around the world – a community that they will be a part of for a lifetime.

What is the timeline for the program?

Recipients for the 2025 program have been selected and notified. Applications for the 2026 program will open in March 2026. Stay tuned for more information!

How can I support the FLITE Program?

Colin Graydon

“The FLITE stipend I received was crucial, as it allowed me to be part of an amazing team and gain invaluable real-world experience without the stress of potential housing insecurity. It provided the financial support I needed to focus fully on my work and contribute meaningfully to a project that I’m passionate about.”

– Colin Graydon (C’24)

Sophie McDowall

“I had great opportunities to learn from practitioners in the field of cybersecurity and become familiar with various areas of focus including critical infrastructure cybersecurity and open source investigations. The FLITE stipend program supported me to be able to live in DC this summer and work in person at my internship.”

– Sophie McDowall (SFS’25)

Anish Goel

“I wasn’t sure what to expect coming into this internship, but I’m glad I was able to build a lasting professional network and contribute to a product I am proud to represent. The FLITE stipend program benefited me because it allowed me to make the most of this internship experience.”

– Anish Goel (B’27)
