We Are Georgetown: Celebrating Our Black History is an oral history project dedicated to documenting the Black experience and honoring the rich history of the Black community at Georgetown University. The project captures intergenerational stories of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, spanning the University’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools.

We are proud to partner with the Georgetown University Library, whose stewardship ensures that the We Are Georgetown: Celebrating Our Black History oral histories are preserved and shared widely. Through DigitalGeorgetown, the University’s digital repository, these stories are accessible to future generations, safeguarding the voices, experiences, and contributions of our Georgetown community.
