Title:GEMA DC Holds Outing at Washington Spirit Game

On September 26, 2026, GEMA DC held an outing at the Washington Spirit game, which included a pre-game panel with Spirit Chief Executive Officer Kim Stone and Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Kim Bolt, moderated by Georgetown Adjunct Professor Jimmy Lynn. Over 60 Georgetown alumni and students attended, including from the GEMA Undergraduate Club, the GEMALaw student chapter, the Durban Sports Business Program and a visiting cohort of students from Waseda University in Japan.

The panel topics were varied, including citing the key differences between long-established sports leagues like the NBA and MLB (where Kim and Kim previously worked) vs. relatively new leagues like the NWSL; the importance of embedding the team into the fabric of the community; the most important areas they focused on when taking over the team, and the numerous ways they’ve grown the franchise over time, including an enhanced fan experience and the use of technology and analytics.
