The following distinguished alumni provided candid insights into the process of landing a job in the entertainment and media industries:

  • Sam Feist (L’99), Washington Bureau Chief and Senior Vice President, CNN
  • Caroline Garity (C’12), Director of Original Programming, Disney Streaming
  • Rebecca Sinderbrand (C’99), Senior Washington Editor, NBC News
  • Moderated by: Mitch Peyser, MBA ’93, Vice President/Executive Producer, Time Life

The alumni provided helpful advice on topics including networking, how to prepare for careers in journalism and entertainment, the importance of perseverance and hard work, and the role that Georgetown can play in pursuing your first job. Ms. Garrity also shared that her GEMA Externship literally helped her to land her first job.

After the panel discussion, the alumni took questions from students and stayed around for a reception where there was time for more informal discussions. Even as the Alumni House closed for the evening, discussions continued in the courtyard.
