My ideal client is one who seeks coaching with an open mind, open heart, and willingness to do the introspective work of coaching. I enjoy working with clients in leadership roles, as well as those seeking to move into leadership roles.

Areas of Expertise

My professional background and expertise is in communications and marketing or advertising and I am frequently matched with or referred to clients who work in this field. My career background is specifically in the insurance and financial services field and I often have clients who are in or aspiring to enter the field. My coaching area of focus is in leadership—leaders at all levels from entry level to C-suite, as well as clients who are seeking to advance to leadership roles.

Coaching Style

The foundation of my coaching practice is captured in Front Porch Leadership. I seek to create an environment where clients can slow the pace and focus on the deep intentional, introspective work that coaching requires. I incorporate my Georgetown coaching training with my extensive professional background and leadership experience. I find that my clients respond to being challenged to reflect and capture their thoughts, while also being supported to explore their true values. I often employ a values exercise and also work with clients to develop a leadership declaration during the coaching engagement.

Cathy Nyce brings her “Front Porch” approach to leadership coaching, creating a supportive space where clients can slow the pace and engage in introspective work to identify their core values and focus on their impact as a leader. This passion for supporting and developing leaders has been a cornerstone of Cathy’s 35-year career as a leader and executive in the financial services industry Her professional roles have included chief communications/marketing officer, federal affairs liaison, marketing/media manager and communications strategist.Coaching Session Fee Structure

Cathy’s passion for supporting and challenging leaders has driven her work with large corporations and governmental agencies. She has provided guidance to senior leaders navigating significant transitions both within their organization and within their own personal leadership journey. Effective communication is a foundational element of Cathy’s approach to coaching. She has led organizations through communications challenges ranging from complete corporate rebrand to Board relationship building. She has managed crisis communications situations resulting from both internal and external issues. Drawing on this experience, she supports clients in deepening their awareness of the impact and importance of communication on their overall leadership success.

Cathy is a professional certified coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She holds an executive certificate in leadership coaching and another in transformational leadership from Georgetown University, as well as an executive certificate in mindful leadership from the University of Chicago. She is certified in the Hogan Personality Assessment tool. Cathy is an active mentor and coach with several organizations and facilitates leadership workshops in person and virtually. She is also an avid rescue dog-lover, a Peloton fanatic, and foodie.

Flexible rates starting at $300 a session, 20% discount for Georgetown alumni, 5% additional for GOLD alumni
