Dine with a Doc

Celebrating its 21st year, the Dine with a Doc Program brings together medical alumni in the Washington, DC area and current medical students for dinner conversations in medicine. Alumni have the unique opportunity to host a small group of students for lunch or dinner in their homes or local restaurants on a date of their choice. Managed by the Medical Student Alumni Ambassadors (MSAA) and in partnership with the Georgetown University Alumni Association, Dine with a Doc is a great way to stay connected with the School of Medicine. To inquire about hosting a dinner, please email dinewithadoc@georgetown.edu.

Specialty Showcase has grown over the years, now featuring over 20 specialties represented by alumni, School of Medicine faculty, MedStar Georgetown attendings, and residents. This event is held each spring with registration opening in the winter. To learn more about this event or to find out how to get involved, please email gumcengagement@georgetown.edu.

Hoyas on Call

Hoyas on Call brings the same dynamically conversational format of Specialty Showcase to Medical Reunion Weekend. While Specialty Showcase offers an engagement opportunity more easily accessible by local alumni, Hoyas on Call broadens students’ exposure to alumni with expertise and practice in fields of medicine that span the country. This event is also open to local medical alumni outside of reunion cycles, so please consider joining us. The next Hoyas on Call will take place on Saturday, November 8 from 12 – 2p.m. in the Healey Family Student Center. To learn more about registration, please email gumcengagement@georgetown.edu.

CURA: Connecting and Uniting Residents and Alumni

The CURA program was founded in 2005 with the goal of connecting Georgetown medical alumni with recent graduates as they transition into residency programs across the country. Every year, CURA pairs Georgetown medical alumni with recent School of Medicine graduates based on a preference of location or specialty. Though informal, this year-long mentorship provides recent graduates with an additional support system and keeps them connected to the Hoya family. To become a CURA mentor, please email gumcengagement@georgetown.edu.
