Magis Society

Welcome to the Magis Society Page. Here you’ll find information about what the Magis Society is, photo galleries, newsletters, and contact information.

Magis is a Latin word that most closely translates to “more” or “greater” and has been a long-held value of the Jesuit practice since St. Ignatius’s Retreat. At Georgetown, the Magis Society celebrates alumni who have celebrated their 50th Reunion, an honor which highlights the great legacy of our graduates. Alumni within the Magis Society embody the spirit of Georgetown—and their continued relationship with the university speaks to the connection within the Georgetown community.

Alumni become Magis Society members during the Magis Medallion Ceremony, which kicks off the 50th Reunion weekend. Members of the Magis Society are invited to attend Reunion Weekend annually, instead of waiting five years to reconnect with campus and classmates. Each Reunion Weekend, the Magis Reception and Dinner is hosted on Saturday evening to bring members together. Our Magis alumni are also invited to attend all other general Reunion Weekend programming. While Magis Society members are invited to Reunion annually after their 50th Reunion, class specific Class Parties continue with the celebration of the 55th Reunion.

Magis Society will be at Main Campus Reunion! View the Reunion website >
