About the Club of Spain
Since its founding in 2001, the club has had an institutional relationship with the Georgetown University program in Madrid and has shared events like the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the club. In 2011, the Madrid Hoya Network initiative started with the aim to bring together Georgetown alumni living in Madrid along with Madrid Georgetown program participants for social and institutional events with companies and organizations in Madrid. This program is sponsored by the former program participant, Christopher Landon (C'98).
The Club of Spain aspires to provide a forum for collaboration and reflection, and to influence the following:
--Promote the Jesuit values: "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam"; "Contemplation in Action"; "Academic Excellence"; "Education of the Whole Person"; "Cura Personalis"; "Faith and Justice"; "Men and Women for Others"; "Interreligious Dialog"; and "Community in Diversity".
--Promote the interests of Georgetown University and cooperate with the University to establish contact with the Spanish society in order to maintain Georgetown's formation of a global university leader.
--Intensify relations between the Georgetown community and the Spanish society on the issues of education, culture, politics, science, business and labor.
--Attract, maintain and consolidate friendship ties between all the members of the Georgetown community; employees, professors, students, parents and alumni by promoting cultural, spiritual and social wellbeing of all its members.
--To serve the local community.
