Club of France

Welcome to the Georgetown University Club of France
We serve the 450+ Georgetown alumni living and working in Paris and elsewhere in France

The Club was founded in 1991 as a non-profit association in accordance with French law and with the full recognition and support from Georgetown University. Our mission is to engage with Georgetown alumni in France to promote social, cultural and professional relations. We organize activities with alumni and the university itself to enrich our intellectual, cultural and professional lives, to provide ongoing ties to the university and to represent Georgetown's values of excellence and community in France.

The club organizes events throughout the year, including talks, cocktails with visiting Georgetown professors or deans, happy hours and cultural outings. We also co-sponsor events with other university alumni clubs in Paris and aim to keep our members informed about the upcoming activities of Georgetown alumni clubs in nearby countries.

There are many ways to get involved:

1) Make sure your Profile page on the GU Alumni website is up to date, reflecting France as your country of domicile; otherwise you will not receive any communications from us.

2) Connect with fellow members on Linkedin- GU Club of France page.

3) Alumni interviewing in France – stay connected to GU and help Admissions select great candidates

Georgetown graduates can volunteer to interview prospective students seeking admission to various schools in the University through the Alumni Admissions Program. The interviewing program shows prospective students a critical part of what makes GU stand out among great American universities. By offering and requiring an alumni interview to all applicants, candidates directly experience alumni connectedness, underlining the importance of community at Georgetown. That sense of community sets Georgetown apart and is inseparable from Georgetown's academic excellence and ethical values.

If you would like to help identify terrific future Hoyas among the applicants from this great country, please contact Jon Lillian, the Chairman of APP France.

4) Learn about events organized by American University Clubs of France (AUC France). GU is one of 40+ American University/ college clubs in France. The 2 major annual events are the Traditional Annual Reception held every year with the presence of the US Ambassador and the Traditional AUC Thanksgiving Dinner.
