June 2, 2015, KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Partner Thomas N. Molins joins Husch Blackwell's Kansas City, Mo., office. He joins the firm's Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation team and will primarily assist clients with Tax matters. Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, Molins was counsel (2007-2015) and associate (1998-2006) with Jones Day in Chicago. While there, he assisted clients with corporate federal income tax matters, including matters relating to mergers, acquisitions and financings; international transactions and planning; tax controversy and administrative matters; securities offerings; and real estate investment trusts. He also previously served as a tax associate in the Boston office of Foley, Hoag & Eliot (1995-1998). Initially upon receiving his J.D., Molins served as a law clerk to the Hon. Judge William Fay in the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C. (1995). Molins received his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center (1994), and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law (1993). He received his B.A. in History from Georgetown University (1989). Clients rely on Husch Blackwell's Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation attorneys to handle industry-specific challenges head-on. Kathy Clair Clair-Hayes (c')
Kathy (Clair) Clair-Hayes (C'89) was recently promoted to Director of Network Development from Director of Family Outreach at Red Sox Foundation & Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program located in Boston, MA. The Home Base Program is dedicated to healing the "invisible wounds of war" for returning service members from Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. We provide clinical care with evidence based treatments for PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries, the signature wounds of these wars. We also provide education and training to mental health professionals, colleges and universities, employers and community members about ways to increase a veteran's likelihood of seeking care and what that care should provide. As Director of Network Development, Kathy seeks to expand networks of community trained clinicians and community mental health systems so veterans and military families can receive care closer to home in their communities.

LTC Michel-Alexis Courtines, M.D. (C'89) was recently appointed as Chief of the Radiology Department at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center located at Fort Hood, Texas. He previously served as a Nuclear Medicine Staff Physician at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. "Mitch" Courtines holds board certifications in both Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and was previously certified in Internal Medicine.

On July 12, President Obama nominated Gregory D. Win­free (L'89), currently Acting Administrator of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration at the Department of Transportation, to permanently fill that post. Greg Winfree originally came to RITA on March 15, 2010, as its third Chief Counsel. On June 2, 2011, Secretary Ray LaHood promoted Greg to Deputy Administrator of RITA and he was sworn in on July 15, 2011. During his tenure, Greg has also previously served as the agency's Acting Admin­istrator, and as chairman of the Department of Transporta­tion's Innovation Council. Prior to his RITA appointment, Greg served as Chief Litigation Counsel for Freeport-McMoRan Corporation, one of the world's leading mining and natural resources producers. He also previously served as Union Carbide Corporation's Senior Litigation Counsel and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals' Director of Litigation, respectively. Before embarking on an in-house career pathway, Greg served as a Trial Attorney in the Housing and Civil Enforcement Section of the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division which he joined after starting his career as an associate at the Venable law firm in Washington, D.C. Greg received a J.D. from Georgetown University in 1989 and a B.S. from St. John's University in 1986.

Douglas Brown (B'89) is pleased to announce the publication of the article "New ATM Designs Imitate Online and Mobile Banking" in Bloomberg Businessweek on June 27, 2013. Doug is senior vice president for mobile at FIS, where he is driving the mobilization of banking with new technology and product innovations to help the industry stay better connected with consumers. His work was awarded the 2013 BAI Payments Innovation Award and has made his company, FIS, the leader in mobile financial technology.

John Zoltner (C'89, MBA'97) recently moved from Santiago, Chile to Washington, DC. After six years living in Santiago, Chile developing projects which used mobile technology to address health and agricultural problems in Latin America, John moved back to Washington to serve as Senior ICT and Agriculture Specialist at FHI 360 (formerly AED) with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa.  Click here for photo

Marisa Sanchez (g')
Marisa Sanchez (G'89) received a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University in 2011. She has an organization development and change management consulting practice in the Washington, DC metro area. Ms. Sanchez was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Organization Development Network. She resides in Alexandria, VA and St. Leonard, MD with her husband, Ronald E. Crupi.

New South freshman roommates Chrissie Masdea Landolfi (C'89, L'92) and Lisa Pawly Wright (N '89) pose with the seven boys they have between them outside of the Wright home in York, South Carolina, where the Landolfi family of Columbus, Ohio, visited during their March 2011 spring break. The boys, who range in age from 7-13, are: Tyler Wright, Johnny Landolfi, Marco Landolfi, Harrison Wright, Kenneth Wright, Zachary Wright and Dante Landolfi.

Douglas Brown (b')
Douglas Brown now heads the mobile financial services division of FIS, where he leads mobile strategy and product development for the largest technology provider to the banking industry, serving 14,000 clients worldwide. Doug has been an industry leader at FIS and in his prior role at Bank of America as senior vice president for mobile strategy, where he led the successful launch of Bank of Americas mobile banking product suite. He has been granted patents for his work in mobile payments and mobile banking and was featured in a Harvard Business School case study in April 2010. He and his family have relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from Charlotte, North Carolina, and really enjoy the Midwest.

Thomas Kolon (g')
Thomas F. Kolon, MD (M89) was ordained a Roman Catholic Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Trenton, NJ by Bishop David O'Connell on May 14, 2011. The ordination was at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Trenton and Tom also served as the Deacon of the Eucharist for the Mass. His First Mass on May 15 was at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Moorestown, NJ where he will serve.
