A Virtual Tour of the New Healey Family Student Center

Georgetown's new Healey Family Student Center, located in the New South residence hall building, opened to students on September 5. The innovative and energy-efficient new space will be a new hub for students to create and participate in social events, group study projects, student club and organization activities and more.

New Healey Family Student Center features include:

  • An inviting "great room" with a dramatic central hearth and lounge areas for relaxing and socializing
  • A versatile social room that will serve as a second Copley Formal Lounge, hosting live acts, group dinners, poetry slams, club events—whatever students dream up for it
  • Breakout rooms with multimedia connectivity for group work and campus club activities
  • New dance studios to serve our vibrant student performance groups
  • Bulldog Tavern, a lively pub/dining area – (open October 31)
  • The Hilltoss café, which will provide nutritious grab-and-go food options (open November 1)
  • An outdoor terrace showcasing sweeping views of the Potomac
  • A "green wall" of living plants and other eco-friendly design features

The Healey Family Student Center was named in honor of a leadership gift from the Healey Family Foundation, which supports the philanthropy of Thomas J. (C'64) and Meg Healey, their daughter and son-in-law Megan and John Hagerty, their son, Jeremy (C'95), and his wife, Megan Healey (C'95). Thomas Healey is a former member of the Georgetown University Board of Directors and Board of Regents.
