Robert A. Gregg, PhD (PhD'80), recently was appointed Senior Vice President of  Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Rapid Pathogen Screening Diagnosis, a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of rapid point-of-care (POC) diagnosis tests. News release. August 2015. 

Patrick Joseph Hennelly, Jr., M.D. (M'54), passed away on July 5 at his home at the age of 89. Obituary. July 2015. 

Ellen C. McCormick (N'72, M'78), passed away on May 21 after a short battle with cancer. Dr. McCormick practiced general surgery in Bay Shore, NY for thirty years before retiring in 2012. Obituary. May 2015. 

Walter J. Moore (M'77), will become Governor of the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) at the ACP annual scientific meeting April 30-May 2 in Boston. Read more about Dr. Moore and the ACP here. April 2015. 

Francis R. Perri (M'53), passed away on January 22 after a long battle with cancer. Obituary. January 2015. 

2014 

Leon G. Smith (M'56), was recently named by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute as the first recipient of a new award created in his honor: the Leon G. Smith Lifetime of Public Service Award. New Jersey Business article. December 2014. 

Michael Caruso (M'56), passed away on October 24 at his home. He is survived by his seven children and 21 grandchildren. October 2014. 

Marcella Pecora O'Neill (M'56, R'72), passed away peacefully on July 9 at her home in Bethesda, MD. Obituary. July 2014. 

Suresh K. Mukherji (M'87), has been named Chairman of the Radiology Department at Michigan State University. MSU Website. May 2014.

Scott R. Schultz (M'89), has been inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Radiology (ACR). The induction took place during the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership conference April 26-30 in Washington, D.C. April 2014. 

James B. Spies (M'80), has been named president of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR). He assumed the position during SIR's 38th Annual Scientific Meeting on March 26 in San Diego. Georgetown University Medical Center news release, March 2014.

2013 

Charles F. Elliott (M'56), died on November 10 at home, surrounded by family. Obituary. November 2013. 

Charles Tartaglia (C'58, M'62, R'68), passed away after a long struggle with cancer.  Dr. Tartaglia practiced psychiatry continuously at Georgetown University Hospital from 1969 until just earlier this year. He served as the Director of the Counseling and Psychiatric Service from 1998 until 2001, and was the psychiatrist most often called on for consultations within the Hospital. September 2013.

Thomas McAfee (M'84, R'87), passed away while on vacation in Africa.  Dr. McAfee, former UCSD Dean of Clinical Affairs, was recently appointed to serve as the CEO of Keck Medicine of USC Medical Foundation. NBC news article, September 2013.

Raoul Wientzen (C'68, M'72), released his first published book, The Assembler of Parts, a child's story narrated from the afterlife, and an emotional fable about love, forgiveness, and what most makes us human. Kirkus book review, August 2013. 

Brian Dolan (M'94), director of the Hospitalist Program at South Shore Hospital has been elected to be a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine by the Society of Hospital Medicine. July 2013.

Emil Frederick Miskovsky (M'56, R'59), passed away on June 4 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center. Obituary. June 2013. 

Joseph P. Lynch (MS'82, C'83, M'86), has been named Medical Director of the new stem cell transplant & cell therapy program at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Southwestern Regional Medical Center. Cancer Treatment Centers of America press release, March 2013.

Michael Rotondo (C'78, MS'79, M'84), has been named Chief Executive Officer of the University of Rochester Medical Faculty Group.

Shannon Becker Green (C'02, M'07), was honored with a Georgetown University Alumni Association 2013 Founders Alumni Award for her dedication and commitment to Georgetown and the School of Medicine, February 2013.

Timothy K. Duffin (M'88, R'92), was honored with a Georgetown University Alumni Association 2013 Founders Alumni Award for his dedication and commitment to Georgetown and the School of Medicine, February 2013.

Walter J. Giblin (C'80, M'84), was honored with a Georgetown University Alumni Association 2013 Founders Alumni Award for his dedication and commitment to Georgetown and the School of Medicine, February 2013.

Mark J. Jaffe (M'79), was honored with a Georgetown University Alumni Association 2013 Founders Alumni Award for his dedication and commitment to Georgetown and the School of Medicine, February 2013.

Joseph Bisordi (M'75), was appointed to the American Medical Group Association's Board of Directors, January 2013.

Joseph A. Zenel (C'76, M'80), was named editor-in-chief of the AAP Journal Pediatrics in Review (PIR).  January 2013.
