Georgetown University Alumni Association 33rd Annual Welcome Reception
The Georgetown University Alumni Association honored the incoming Medical School Class of 2013 at the 33rd Annual Welcome Reception held at the Robert F. (F’48) and Bernice Wagner Alumni House on August 6. The reception was featured as a part of the Orientation Week celebration program, giving the students a chance to get to know the Alumni Association and the Medical Student Alumni Ambassadors (MSAA). Bill Reynolds (C’79, P’10, P’13), associate vice president of alumni relations and annual fund, congratulated the class on their achievement, saying, “A diploma from Georgetown University School of Medicine is hard earned and meaningful. We, the Alumni Association, your fellow students, the medical alumni, staff and faculty, wish you all the best as you embark on this grand journey to become physicians.”
MSAA Chair Jared Tompkins (M’11) encouraged M’13 class members to meet the alumni through Medical Center Reunion, a ‘Dinner with a Doc’ gathering, or any of the other many opportunities available through the Alumni Association and MSAA. Dr. Ben Martin (C’01, M’05), member of the Board of Governors and Medical Alumni Board, reminded them of the legacy they inherit, saying, “The alumni of yesterday have built the School of Medicine to what it is today. We owe them a debt of gratitude and a promise to continue the great work they started. I look forward to what you will bring to our alumni community in four years. We expect great things from the Class of 2013.”
