Kennedy Institute of Ethics Committee

The Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University advances individuals’ and groups’ ability to think deeply and engage constructively in the most powerful and complex issues in bioethics, an evolving discipline that confronts the moral challenges around health and medicine, the environment and emerging biotechnology. Building on the world’s leading bioethics library, a team of renowned ethicists, philosophers
and educational technologists, and KIE’s unique platform at the heart of Georgetown’s main campus, the Institute enables students and partners to find the best way forward through the complicated and often contentious environment of real world bioethics choices. The Regents Committee for the KIE will work to support the Institute’s campaign objectives, which include: assisting in the development of new teaching models for undergraduates through the creation of EthicsLab and its physical space in Healy Hall; supporting new teaching positions and post-doctoral fellowships and assisting with the endowment and the naming and expansion of the Bioethics Research Library.
