Georgetown University Alumni Association Board of Governors 2017 Election

The Georgetown University Alumni Association holds yearly elections for new members to serve on its volunteer leadership body, the Board of Governors. Beginning on May 1, 2017, 14 candidates stand for election to serve as Elected Governors for a term starting July 1, 2017 and concluding June 30, 2020.

All alumni are eligible to vote in the 2017 election. These volunteers will represent you by providing direction to the alumni relations programs of the university and advising the university on matters of importance to alumni.

Key Election Dates

2017 Election:

  • Election voting opened at 9 a.m. EDT on May 1, 2017.
  • Election voting closed at 5 p.m. EDT on May 31, 2017.
  • Election results will be verified at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The meeting will take place at the Robert & Bernice Wagner Alumni House from 9:30 to 10 a.m. EDT. Please RSVP to by May 31 if you plan to attend the Annual Meeting.

About the Board of Governors

The Board of Governors is the leadership body of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) organization. Governors are elected by a vote of all alumni. The Board of Governors represents Georgetown alumni, sustaining and developing the interests of alumni in the university's objectives, programs, activities, and achievements. The Board of Governors is responsible for protecting and preserving the traditions of Georgetown alumni and providing and encouraging support for the university.
