Mark your calendars: Hoya Homecoming 2008!
Dear Classmates,
Time has flown by since our
graduation, and as we continue to progress and grow in our lives, Georgetown
is faced with the beginning of another school year (admitting the class
of 2012, can you believe it?!).
In the years since we departed from the Hilltop, Georgetown
has expanded its presence globally, and the impact the university is
leaving on the world continues to grow. To ensure you don’t miss the
Hilltop too much and remain involved in the University’s ever expanding
global presence, the Class of 2002 Committee is reaching out to keep
you connected to the Georgetown community. A few things to note as you
head into the Fall:
- IMPORTANT!
Visit Hoyasonline -- http://alumni.georgetown.edu -- to update your mailing address. We love your parents, but we don’t
want to send them your mail -- and we’re sure they don’t care nearly as much about
Homecoming.
- Welcome to the
Neighborhood! Local alumni clubs near you are hosting events to
welcome new Hoyas to the city. To find these events and register,
check out http://alumni.georgetown.edu/neighborhoodevent Go to
the event to make connections with fellow ‘02ers and other Hoyas in
your area.
- Class Committee
and Staying in Touch: Our class committee is always looking for
new volunteers to keep the momentum going – let us know if you’d
like to get involved. Don’t forget to check our Web site occasionally
to see what’s going on near you, and be sure to join the Class of
2002 Facebook group.
- There’s No
Place Like Homecoming! Homecoming weekend is over Columbus
Day weekend, Oct. 9-12, 2008. There are tons of events planned
for alumni, including guest speaker Alexandra Robbins, author of
The Quarterlife Crisis and The Overachievers, the Hilltop
5K, An Evening with the Coaches, and, of course, our Class of 2002 Class
Party. Stay tuned for more information, or check out the website
at http://homecoming.georgetown.edu
- Continue to leave
a legacy at Georgetown by donating to the Georgetown Fund. Gifts
not only show our affection for the Hilltop, but count toward U.S. News
and World Report's rankings, which show the rest of the world that we’re
truly No. 1.
While we may be spread all
over the globe, we’re all rooted in Georgetown for life, so let’s make
sure we stay connected over the coming years. We hope to catch
up with you all at Homecoming on campus this Fall.
